MODEL
Defender 110

Cape Town, South Africa
This Defender was built for one thing: driving from Cape Town to Djibouti. The mods were done by Bas4Cars in the Netherlands, a specialist that only works on Land Rovers. Full underbody aluminium plating, rock sliders, a roof rack carrying a sixth tyre, four jerry cans, an extra battery, a fridge, a shortwave radio and Starlink. The route runs through Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi and Tanzania, with a break before continuing through Kenya, Ethiopia and Djibouti. The trip is organised by Car Challenge, a Dutch overland outfit, with guide and mechanic support vehicles along the way.
